Will anyone camp out at Dodge dealerships this weekend? Maybe, because Monday, Dec. 3, is the first day dealers can take orders for the 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 coupe.
The price for that ticket? Just $37,995, including shipping charges, the Dodge boys said on Thursday. Cars will start arriving at dealerships next spring.
Dodge plans several trim levels and powertrains–V6 and smaller-displacement V8 models–for the Challenger, but initially will offer only the high-performance SRT8 model. That means the car is packing a 6.1-liter Hemi V8 under the hood.
Buyers of the “limited edition” (although Dodge isn’t saying what that limit is) can choose among black, silver or orange for their paint job. Inside, each car’s dash will carry a numbered plate.
