BMW has completed a test of what it says is the first hydrogen-powered luxury sedan, the BMW Hydrogen 7. NASA worked on the project as well, which runs on a liquid hydrogen system comparable to one NASA uses in its space shuttle program. NASA drivers could fill up at the Kennedy Space Centers liquid hydrogen fueling station.
BMW said 100 Hydrogen 7s have been manufactured, and 25 are in testing programs in the United States. BMW said the cars have covered more than 1.3 million miles in testing around the world.
