The series formerly known as the Champ Car Atlantic Championship–now dubbed the Atlantic Championship as a result of Champ Car’s bankruptcy filing–announced an 11-race schedule for 2008 that will see it run with various major-league racing series on permanent road courses and temporary street circuits during its 35th season.
Notable is the return to the historic Trois-Rivieres street course in Quebec after a five-year absence. The Atlantics will headline activities in Trois-Rivieres on Sunday, Aug. 17, for the first time since 2003, when A.J. Allmendinger won en route to claiming the series championship.
The series will visit two venues for the first time this season: New Jersey Motorsports Park and Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah. Additionally, Road Atlanta returns to the schedule for the first time since 1993.
