Mitsubishi Concept-cX is Frankfurt Bound: A preview of Mitsubishi’s green concept

At the Frankfurt motor show in September, Mitsubishi will reveal the Concept-cX, a next-generation compact sport/utility vehicle that seeks the ideal balance between environmental concerns and practical performance.

The all-wheel-drive concept car is powered by a high-output, high-efficiency 1.8-liter clean-diesel engine fitted with a variable geometry turbocharger. The engine is mated to Mitsubishi’s new Twin Clutch SST (Sport Shift Transmission)—the same unit that will debut on the Evolution X at the Tokyo show this fall.

Concept-cX features extensive use of interior trim pieces using Mitsubishi’s Green Plastic, which is made from bamboo and other plant-based resins.
